Around midnight one foggy evening, I tried to connect with the presence of God, as I stood on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Columbia River far below. Clouds covered the gorge and leveled themselves so that it seemed as though I could step out and walk upon the surface. My life also lay before me like a vast journey of undulating ups-and-downs, some joys yes, but lots of heartaches. Did I even want to play the game?

“Why am I here? What’s the purpose to life anyway?”  I whispered intently over the sea of grey. We all ask these age-old, mind-niggling questions at some point in our life. It was at this time I began a personal search for the elusive answers.

With perseverance, I discovered them quite unexpectedly, right where they were said to be: in the ancient writings of an old black Bible.

However, when I examined the passages with no preconceived ideas on what they were supposed to say, I found them bizarre and in such contrast to the standard beliefs of any denomination of Christianity that I knew at that time. Yet, I was young and idealistic enough to strip away all the religious terminology and put it into a contemporary context. The conclusions were only logical but yet simply amazing. (1)

The Celestial Proposal - from Chapter 4

The world’s best-selling book is still The Bible. And in the first chapter, it quotes God! “Let us make man in our image and likeness.” (2) I was so surprised that God is a title referring to more than one! There have to be others or why would God be talking to himself? I researched the original Hebrew and Chaldean writings and discovered that the English word God, is translated from the plural term Elohim. According to The New Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, it literally means “the powerful and Great Ones from above”.

God is a plural word for “Gods who do great things.”

Then from later chapters in the Bible, I read about three God-beings, symbolized in human terms by the words Father, Son, and Spirit. This concept also portrays God as being more than one!

The Celestial Proposal - Chapter 6 Image

So now, I use the term The Great Ones to remind myself that God is a collection of benevolent, celestial God-beings vastly more powerful and intelligent than what we can barely imagine. When you see God as a source of God-beings who have a special interest in our human race, then playing the Game of Life gets very interesting!

Especially when “they” want to adopt us, immortalize us, and make us progeny of the God Kind – you know, children of God?

We’re made in their image and likeness; made to look like them and to act like them. Now,  all we have to do is figure out the rules so we can win at playing the Game of Life!

Huffington Post/Richard Greene

“You think God’s an alien? You are weird!” That’s what they say to me when I share my belief in a Higher Power residing in outer space. But I think it’s funny that some of these same people believe in a God from heaven! I mean, what heaven are they talking about besides the space outside of our planet?

So far, space exploration has mapped over 3,000 exoplanets, and seven of them are orbiting a nearby star. These planets are warm enough that water and life as we know it would be conceivable (Astronomy/The Guardian). And oddly enough they are in the constellation of Aquarius. The new Astrological age has arrived!

Then there’s a whole new division in Science called exotheology. It’s a term that describes theological implications with the discovery of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. Because NASA says it’s just a matter of time before we discover the existence of intelligent life somewhere out there in the multitude of solar systems. Want to explore the possibilities? Check out Exoplanets.Nasa.Gov where you can practically walk the surfaces of these worlds yourself.

Yet all this doesn’t change my spiritual Christian beliefs in the least! And it need not change yours. Because you don’t have to read the bible in King James English anymore. I read it for space age contemporary meaning which makes it even more realistic and exciting!

If God and company (angels, elders, etc.) created intelligent beings on our planet, why wouldn’t they want to mentor their prodigy with celestial rules for acceptable behaviour. We’ve called it religion for thousands of years, but scripture says Jesus Christ came to write these celestial, moral laws in our hearts. Perhaps that’s why today some of us label it spirituality or enlightenment.

Even NASA is trying to reconcile the discovery of extraterrestrial life to humanity’s religious norms calling it the “the societal implications of astrobiology.” In 2014, NASA gave $1.1 million to the Center of Theological Inquiry, an organization rooted in Christian theology.

Did you know the Catholic Church is already preparing their worldwide followers for the very possibility of advanced intelligent life? Father Jose Funes is the current director of the Vatican Observatory (yes it’s had one for decades). “This Jesuit astronomer suggests the possibility of ‘brother extraterrestrials‘ poses no problem for Catholic theology.”

Extraterrestrial means outside of earth or its atmosphere. So I ask you, where else could God be from, but offside of earth in the heavens?

Fotosearch_k10149770"The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind."
Psalm 115:16NIV Bible

We are making a mess of our world both politically and environmentally. Will a time soon come when we have to ask a God from the heavens to SAVE US?

The Celestial Proposal:
Our Invitation to Join the God Kind

Jane at Cathedral ChimneyThere ARE others like me! We’ve followed the logical path and climbed up to the summit of the mountain. We stand in the gap between religion and science and dare to see through to the Promised Land!

If you’re a Christian how do YOU reconcile the growing evidence of life outside our solar system? There’s even a new acronym for it called ETI or Extraterrestrial Intelligence. But our belief in God and alien beings are not contradictory! You just have to put the pieces of the puzzle together differently.

I used to be ridiculed for reading verses in the bible and taking them literally but with recent scientific discoveries, they NOW make more sense than ever before.

When we talk about a God in the highest of heavens, wanting to establish his Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven; then we’ve already accepted some kind of  Higher Intelligence existing out there. In today’s language, we call it outer space, or a far away galaxy. Christians have been praying about it in the Lord’s Prayer for 2000 years!

Fotosearch_k10149770Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Matthew 6:9-10 NIV Bible

If we believe that God sent his son Jesus Christ down from heaven to every nation under heaven and then ascended back into heaven, then we believe an (off-earth), alien presence has already been on this planet!

If we make Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour we are making a personal alliance with a race of God Beings – God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, an entity called Holy Spirit, and thousands upon thousands of the angels in heaven (or outerspace).

The Bible is full of references to angels (total count of 386)! By definition, an angel is a messenger from another realm. The Virgin Mary becomes pregnant after being visited by a messenger, an Angel called Gabriel. How could a virgin give birth– except by the modern process of in vitro fertilization or at least artificial insemination!

Fotosearch_k10149770“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:34 NIV Bible

Mary names her baby Jesus, a name that means God saves. Later he becomes known as Jesus Christ but his last name is not Christ! This word means anointed with power from on high, or having a supernatural power.

Now if Jesus Christ is the Son of God–and was born of a virgin, then Jesus had to be conceived with male sperm from a father not from earth, but a heavenly Father. So isn’t it simpler to say:  Jesus Christ was part extraterrestrial?

Hey, I’m just talking in contemporary logic here! The fact that we can use modern terminology doesn’t negate any of our Christian beliefs. The Bible still stands and instructs us how to live in joy and peace. A Twenty-First Century interpretation of Christian terminology just makes it all the more real!

At least to me. What about you?

Some of you LOVE to eat chocolate bunnies for Easter. I know you do! Usually, we prepare the platter of turkey for Thanksgiving, and the rack of lamb to celebrate Easter (if you’re not vegan of course). How in the world did this choice of food source get chosen for the Easter holidays and the Passover season?

A recent blog on Faith/Love/Sout, captures the way to live well. Yamina, I love how you wrote this! Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

Paulo Coelho has said that . . .

“A child can teach an adult three things:

to be happy for no reason,

to always be busy with something,

and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.”

Being an adult is a constant reminder of our responsibilities, all the while forgetting how to LIVE LIFE FULLY.  We remember to be an active participant of the “rat race” while forgetting what it’s like to “slow down and smell the roses.”

As adults, I believe we can learn much when we view the world through the eyes of a child.

Here are 5 beautiful ways in which children live and the valuable lessons they teach us!

Children don’t dwell on the past and certainly do not worry about the future.  They fully enjoy the HERE AND NOW! For them, the…

waterfall-problems-1-1024x640The stone walls stretched skyward high above and the floor felt like a solid drum. As I beat my chest, it echoed all around until the whole chamber reverberated with a resonating beat. What is going on here? I thought. I became the sound and simply couldn’t get enough of it until my friends pulled me away to explore more of the mysteries of Angkor Wat. The chamber I stood in was but a small room in one of the largest temples in this Wodscf0381rld Unesco Site located in Cambodia. These Hindu temples were built for the “Mountain of the Gods” and this particular room had perfect acoustics for drumming the out vibrational sound for healing.

I’m fascinated by sounds. Years ago, I was often sick a with a painful bladder infection and being 100 miles from the nearest town, sometimes I had no medication to fix it. After two hours of listening full blast to my favourite spiritual music, my discomfort was gone and I felt wonderful! But how did that happen?

So here’s some research I did to fit the pieces together: Music is energy in motion. It’s pulsating vibrations. I’ve talked to friends and family of people who are deaf and regardless of their lack of hearing they go to music concerts because they can feel these vibrations even if they can’t hear them. Science has now demonstrated that sound wave frequencies can create patterns in the molecules of matter, [1] and can physically levitate droplets of liquid. Perhaps you’ve heard of the Japanese scientist, Masaru Emoto, who subjected water to all kinds of sounds, while freezing it to discover distinct intricate patterns. I have 52 cards of photos showing some really unique “snowflakes.” Positive affirmative sounds resulted in beautiful symmetric designs but discordant ugly sounds were frozen into chaotic misshapened forms. When you put that research together with the fact that our bodies consist of more than 60% water it makes sense that sound vibrations can enter and affect our physical cells also! So obviously pleasant sounds penetrate to the core of our beings, arranging molecules into corresponding patterns.

And why do I feel so good on a forest trail, with the sounds of nature all around me? The babbling stream, the wind in the leaves, the crash of the surf; it’s like a boost of mental clarity and vibrant energy. I discovered that it’s because nature resonates at a particular point on the scale! “These sounds consist of vibrational frequency, measured in levels of Hertz (Hz). All of these natural harmonics vibrate at 432 Hz, and it’s the natural frequency of the universe.”  [2]

What’s so unique about sounds vibrating at 432 Hz? Well, there’s  many documented healings that have taken place using that same frequency. And guess what? It’s the same frequency of ancient sacred musical instruments. The Tibetan singing bowls have long been used for such purposes. Another odd example is the didgeridoo from the Australian aboriginals. Dan, a friend of ours played his new CD of this kind of music and I was entranced with its hauntingly beautiful simplicity. Here’s a sample if you’ve never heard it played before:

The first famous composers of classical music used to play their instruments with the A note set at 432 Hz, but todays concert pitch is set at 440 Hz. I think the reason it was changed is significant. Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister in 1939, dictated the 440Hz setting as the standard tuning pitch for concerts to cause a dissonance in the way people thought. This was despite a referendum signed by 23,000 French musicians from the Paris Conservatory who objected and were all for the preservation of the Note A remaining the setting of 432 Hz. Now there’s a movement to reinstate the frequency of today’s concert music back to earth’s natural vibrational tone. [3] Another infamous world leader understood the power music of music saying, “Give me control over he who shapes the music of a nation, and I care not who makes the laws.”And it makes one wonder what kind of background noise we are all tuned into without knowing it right now. Subliminally. By just setting a world standard of 432 Hz level for the tuning in of all kinds of music think what benefits might appear!

So can you really believe that the healing characteristics of sound and the exact tone of the universe, came about by chance? Can you deny the logical need for an Intelligent Designer to orchestrate sound as an integral part of our world? That’s why I see SOUND as the language God uses to communicate with us. To heal us. To make our hearts soar with gratitude for the sheer beauty of hearing it.

He talks to me through beautiful sounds in nature, and through pure resonating chords in good music. The next time you have to focus on learning something, put on some classical baroque music, because its specific nature has been proven to bolster your learning capacity. The ratio of 60 beats per minute activates the left and right sides of the brain maximizing our ability to retain information![4]

How powerful is sound? Well, some of us know that sound can shatter glass just by experiencing a noisy parade going by. In the Old Testament, the Israelites used the noise of trumpets for 7 days and shouts from all their soldiers to shatter the city walls of Jericho.[5] Now, do you think that this is just a religious myth or could there possibly be some scientific reasoning behind it?
