Searching for happiness is like chasing rainbows! You end up searching all over and you never find the start of it. How can you make yourself happy?

“Happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue. One must have a reason to be happy.” Viktor Emil Frankl, in Mans Search For Meaning, instructs us in wisdom. He says happiness is like laughter. If you want somebody to laugh, you have to provide a reason to laugh. You can’t tell someone to laugh and expect it to be real. There must be a reason.

Happiness is the same, it’s a result of something else.

But how do you MAKE it happen?

To gain real happiness, you must set a higher spiritual objective, dream a dream, have a vision, or set a goal because the closer you get to achieving that goal, the happier you become.

Even the tiny steps you take along the way result in small doses of happiness bursting forth in your brain.

So dare to dream and your joy will download by increments along your path!

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. John 15:10-12 NIV

"Like everyone else, my pursuit in life was to find happiness. Health and wealth would, of course, be wonderful to have, but I wanted to discover the secret of inner joy and serenity, and to live a fulfilling life... (But) The Great Ones know that in order for us to have abundant lives, we must first learn how to love." The Celestial Proposal, Chapter 10, The Celestial Standards of Morality, pg.115.

What does this guy have that most of us don’t?

He’s not privileged, he’s not wealthy, and he doesn’t even do great things. Why then does this video clip melt our hearts?

It’s because this man responds from a different operating system. Oh, it’s not that it’s been filmed in Thailand, for it could have been filmed in any part of the world. This person is aligned with ancient principles of karma. His simple actions come from following the Golden Rule. He’s got an inner connection to something far greater than himself and the results of his actions almost seem magical. What is he plugged into?

Let’s call it a connection to Spirit – that invisible source of higher intelligence that draws us onward to become better human beings.

I think the God Source is real. Like a pulsating frequency, it just waits for us to desire some moral GPS directions and then to tune into it!

To quote from my book, The Celestial Proposal, Chapter 13, “Welcome to the Kingdom,” page 195:

What if celestial Spirit is a supernatural software program by which we can access spiritual properties? What if we authorize its download when we request Spirit to be installed in our minds? We already have built-in connection ports because we have been created in the likeness of the Great Ones!

However, there is a requirement: we must defragment our hard drives to free up space for the installation of this new software for human beings. Downloading this updated, powerful version can override the current operating system by interfacing directly with a celestial network…Spinoff effects of human joy and happiness are the result.

I’m right in the middle of an eco-resort on a fun-filled Caribbean holiday, and I was still missing something. I needed to connect with God. My girlfriend and I discovered a perfect place to do just that!

At the end of the path, I sat down and drank it in with deep breathes. Pure clean water rushed through the jungle bottom and trickled into the pond in a continuous melody of sound. God had created a symphony for me with water!

Roots from the trees reached down into the rich base of this source of life…and I too reached for it and with passing time grew satisfied and serene. I’ve decided the best place to find God is in sacred locations in nature because they can be found everywhere you go. In these kinds of places, you can feel God and if you listen carefully you might hear him speak to you toO, in his gentle kind voice.

On another day there was no water running. The reflection on the surface merged the real world with the surreal and I was once again entranced.

These Cenotes are springs from a vast underground water reservoir in the jungles of the Yucatan. The ancient Mayan civilization flourished because access to this water was a sacred source of life. Down another trail, we stumbled upon yet another small cenote that looked like it was the lens in the eye of God. And yes of course, we climbed right in and swam in the coolness!

“Dear God, make me clean and pure so that I can flow outward and feed others just like your living water…!”

And these are words from a great book of prophecy:

...he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:17

If a man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. (John 7:37–38)

Searching for happiness is like chasing rainbows! You end up running all over and never connecting. How does one find happiness or make it happen?

“Happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue. One must have a reason to be happy.”

Viktor Emil Frankl, in Mans Search For Meaning, instructs us with this wisdom. He says happiness is like laughter. If you want somebody to laugh, you have to provide a reason to laugh – in a joke or a shared funny experience. You can’t tell someone to laugh and expect it to be real. You can’t tell someone to be happy and expect it to happen. There must be a reason. Happiness is a by-product, a result of something else. To gain real happiness we have to set and pursue some other objective.

It is good then to dream a dream, have a vision, or set a goal because the nearer we come to fulfillment the happier we become. For a quick short cut to happiness, we can always think of even the little things we’ve achieved along the way. Gratitude is an exercise in happiness.

I am so happy right now! I’ve been pursuing a goal for a very long, long time. My own search for life’s answers has driven me for decades to write a book. Now it’s complete (with pictures!) and near to being published. My heart is singing! In August on Amazon and Kindle, please watch for:

The Celestial Proposal – Our Invitation to Join the God Kind

Now my goal is to share this book with you, to make you (and me) happier! I’ll be posting short components here along with other insights. I urge you all to dare to dream and have fun along the way!
