THIS IS ME! Climbing in the Cathedral Provincial Park, in BC, Canada. Do you see the beautiful view through the crevasse of the rock walls? But this place was scary, and I didn’t know which way to go.

Sometimes life gets messy and we don’t know what to THINK. We’re between a rock and a hard place and we get stuck… Scared to push forward, afraid to back down…

Searching for happiness is like chasing rainbows! You end up searching all over and you never find the start of it. How can you make yourself happy?

“Happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue. One must have a reason to be happy.” Viktor Emil Frankl, in Mans Search For Meaning, instructs us in wisdom. He says happiness is like laughter. If you want somebody to laugh, you have to provide a reason to laugh. You can’t tell someone to laugh and expect it to be real. There must be a reason.

Happiness is the same, it’s a result of something else.

Happiness a by-product of our behavior!     CLICK TO TWEET

But how do you MAKE it happen?

To gain real happiness, you must set a higher spiritual objective, dream a dream, have a vision, or set a goal because the closer you get to achieving that goal, the happier you become.

Even the tiny steps you take along the way result in small doses of happiness bursting forth in your brain.

So dare to dream and your joy will download by increments along your path!

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. John 15:10-12 NIV

"Like everyone else, my pursuit in life was to find happiness. Health and wealth would, of course, be wonderful to have, but I wanted to discover the secret of inner joy and serenity, and to live a fulfilling life... (But) The Great Ones know that in order for us to have abundant lives, we must first learn how to love." The Celestial Proposal, Chapter 10, The Celestial Standards of Morality, pg.115.

LOVE NEVER FAILS? BAH!

Love never fails? Bah! Sometimes it fails miserably. It’s not because the nature of love isn’t powerful enough – because love can cut a swath like a laser beam through the darkest of hearts.

The word itself is just so overused we don’t recognize the real thing.

I am sad. But tears are sliding down the cheeks of many people right now. They’ve been ravaged by recent tragedies; huge tornadoes, giant wildfires, and massive flooding. How does one accept the calamities that overtake us? What do you do after the tears?

Searching for happiness is like chasing rainbows! You end up running all over and never connecting. How does one find happiness or make it happen?

“Happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue. One must have a reason to be happy.”

Viktor Emil Frankl, in Mans Search For Meaning, instructs us with this wisdom. He says happiness is like laughter. If you want somebody to laugh, you have to provide a reason to laugh – in a joke or a shared funny experience. You can’t tell someone to laugh and expect it to be real. You can’t tell someone to be happy and expect it to happen. There must be a reason. Happiness is a by-product, a result of something else. To gain real happiness we have to set and pursue some other objective.

It is good then to dream a dream, have a vision, or set a goal because the nearer we come to fulfillment the happier we become. For a quick short cut to happiness, we can always think of even the little things we’ve achieved along the way. Gratitude is an exercise in happiness.

I am so happy right now! I’ve been pursuing a goal for a very long, long time. My own search for life’s answers has driven me for decades to write a book. Now it’s complete (with pictures!) and near to being published. My heart is singing! In August on Amazon and Kindle, please watch for:

The Celestial Proposal – Our Invitation to Join the God Kind

Now my goal is to share this book with you, to make you (and me) happier! I’ll be posting short components here along with other insights. I urge you all to dare to dream and have fun along the way!

“Merry Christmas,” we call out to our friends and family with frosty breathe in the early winter evenings in the northern continents. At least our hearts our warm with tender feelings for strangers even on the sidewalks as we hurry on toward December 25th. What is this Christmas holiday all about, really? We sing “the first Noel”….“born was the King of Israel.” We sing “oh, star of wonder, star of night”…and “lead us to the perfect light.” We know the Christmas story about Jesus being a savior, born in a manger to a dark and dreary world but how is the birth of Jesus Christ viewed from a celestial point of view.

This event was of such magnitude that an angel was sent down to earth near the little town of Bethlehem to “shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.”

Snowy hillside

I guess these country sheepherders must have been terrified when a celestial being in the form of an angel suddenly appeared against the grassy hillside. They were used to gazing at the stars in the night. But now a brilliant shining light surrounded the figure in front of them.

“Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.”

These celestial angelic entities entered our 3 dimensional physical realm to verbally communicate a message of such stupendous significance that there were hordes of them in the sky to witness it. It was their celebration, not ours! The shepherds who witnessed the event must have heard this message in their minds or spoken out loud in their language in order for it to be later meticulously recorded, and preserved for us today in written form.

Where did this great heavenly host of celestial beings shining so brilliantly against the sky come from? Perhaps all together they looked like a star. Maybe this was the star described as a radiant orb of light that had been sighted when it rose in the east. This luminous moving host in the sky was first appearing, moving, and then stopping at a specific time and place. What star does that?

Orb in SkyHistory tells us there were Magi, influential learned men who had first sighted it and traveled to follow it. “…the star they had seen in the east (or when it rose) went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.” If these men had our vocabulary, they would perhaps have claimed it as an unidentified aerial phenomenon that had come down from the heavens. A fantastic message was given to them by a host of celestial entities. The message? – That a saviour to the whole human race was born, that a child was born, part God, part man and sent to us as a celestial ambassador from their realm into ours. This was and is Good News because we, and our planet still need saving. Praise God that they deem us scrawny human beings worthy enough to be saved!

With this background, I now wish you a fine celebration on Christmas Day!
